At Implexa Dance, we are extremely fortunate to have such dedicated and talented dancers. Here is a bit of information about each of them, giving you an idea of their own experiences and achievements prior to Implexa Dance Company.
Emily Try - Choreographer & Teacher
Emily danced from the age of four learning Ballet, Tap, Modern and Street, and performing in yearly shows. She then went on to study Choreography & Dance with Drama, at the University of Winchester, graduating in 2013, and now teaches Dance and Drama to students. Whilst at University, she was a member of the University’s Dance Company – D@win - touring round several colleges and performance venues, as well as playing Alice in a dance production of Alice in Wonderland. She has worked and performed with several other companies, including The Wycombe Swan and Manic Stage Productions, and is thrilled to now be dancing with Implexa.
Erika Montenegro - Choreographer & Teacher
Erika is a Dance Artist based in Oxfordshire. She trained in Contemporary Dance and is experienced in devising, teaching, directing and performing dance. She completed a National Diploma in Dance (2010), and graduated from the University of Winchester (2013), obtaining a BA(Hons) in Choreography & Dance. Whilst at University toured with D@win Dance Company. After graduating she directed One Two Wonder (Anamorphic Dance Theatre), performed at The Queen of Spades (Park Opera) and choreograph, performed and created promotional video for the Dancin’ Oxford Dance Festival, among other work. She is currently working as a Dance & Pilates teacher in the Oxfordshire area.
Keri-Marie Butcher - Performer & Teacher
Keri-Marie has been dancing since the age of fifteen. She first began ballet at her local dance school in Weymouth, studying there for two years whilst earning her GCSE in dance. Passing with flying colours, she decided to take what she had learnt to college. There, she undertook a BTEC diploma in performing arts, in which drama and dance were prominent. At present, she is in her third and final year at the University of Winchester studying Dance- involving techniques by Graham and Cunningham- and Choreography, in which she is enforcing and perfecting her confidence as a choreographer.
Mickayla Jade Lawrie - Performer & Teacher
Mickayla has been dancing since the age of 2. Growing up in Australia she trained in many different styles including: contemporary, jazz, tap, hip hop and ballet. Mickayla has been given the opportunity to perform on cruise ships and teach dance classes on board. She is excited to join Implexa and focus on her favourite style of dance, contemporary.
